How to add or update an emergency contact for my pets?

Edited

You may not always be available to answer your phone. Adding an emergency contact means there’s another trusted person who can be reached if your pet is found - helping to speed up reunification.

Steps to add or update an emergency contact

  1. Log in to your account at petdatabase.com/account.

  2. In the Emergency Contact Details section, click Add emergency contacts (or Edit if you already have one saved).

  3. Fill in the required fields:

    • Name – The person’s full name.

    • Relation – Select from Family, Friends, Pet Carer, Rescue, or Others.

    • Phone number – A number they can answer quickly.

  4. Click Save to confirm the details.

Why it’s useful

  • Faster reunification – If you can’t be reached, your emergency contact can respond immediately to bring your pet home.

  • Extra safety – Ideal for people who travel frequently, work long hours, or share pet care responsibilities.

  • Flexible options – Choose a family member, trusted friend, pet carer, or even your local rescue.

💡 Tip: Make sure your emergency contact knows they’ve been added and is happy to respond if called — especially if they live nearby and can collect your pet.
